Abstract

Various molecular and supramolecular molecular devices (i.e., pH-based fluorescent sensors for transition metal ions and multi-compartmental systems for the intra-compartments translocation of metal ions with external pH stimulus) designed suitably by using linear and cyclic dioxotetraamines as chelating unit have been reviewed. The various aspects such as effect due to change of pH and of metal ions are narrated.
