Abstract

•The m-CuO catalysts were synthesized by nanocasting with KIT-6 mesoporous silica.•The m-CuO showed high catalytic activity for click reactions in aqueous media.•The recovered catalyst could be reused without loss of the activity and selectivity.

We demonstrate that ordered mesoporous CuO with gyroid mesostructures can be used as highly efficient, stable, and recyclable self-supported catalysts for click reactions in aqueous media.
