Abstract

•Co3O4 nanoflowers were synthesized with template-free ultrasonic process.•Co3O4 nanoflowers showed performance on the removal of 10 ppm NO at room temperature.•By doping Mg2 + in the Co3O4 nanoflowers, 9 h for above 50% NO removal was obtained.

Co3O4 nanoflowers with high surface areas were synthesized with a facile template-free ultrasonic process and showed high performance on the removal of low-concentration (10 ppm) NO at room temperature. By doping Mg2 + in the Co3O4 nanoflowers, improved performances of about 9 h for above 50% NO removal were obtained.
