Abstract

The straightforward one-step synthesis of a series of biphenyl phosphanes of type Fc2−nPhnP(C6H4Ar) (Ar = C6H5, C6H4-4-Me, C6H3-2-Cl-5-CF3, C6H4-4-OMe, C6H4-2-OMe; Fc =  (η5-C5H4)(η5-C5H5)Fe; n = 2, 1, 0) by the catalytic reaction of Fc2−nPhnP(C6H4Br) with diverse boronic acids (HO)2BAr in presence of low [(dppf)PdCl2] (dppf =  1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene) catalyst loadings with no need of phosphorus protection is reported.
