Abstract

A simple and efficient synthesis of 2,4,6-triarylpyridines using a variety of aromatic and heteroaromatic aldehydes in the presence of solid-supported perchloric acid (HClO4–SiO2) as a heterogeneous catalyst at 120 °C under solvent-free conditions. The present methodology offers several advantages such as excellent yields, simple procedure, shorter reaction times (4–6 h), milder conditions and the catalyst exhibited remarkable reusable activity.
