Abstract

Methoxymethylation of a variety of alcohols was performed using formaldehyde dimethoxy acetal in the presence of silica sulfuric acid at room temperature and solvent-free conditions. The methoxymethyl ethers (MOM-ethers) were obtained in high yields and purity.
