Abstract

A novel kind of TiO2carbide regular catalyst that can photodegrade organic pollutants of dilute concentrations in gas-phase effectively is presented. Carbide is used as adsorbent and metal mesh is used as support of the adsorbent. The carbide adsorbent is directly prepared on metal meshes, which were shaped into corrugated or planar sheets in advance. TiO2 is loaded on the carbide prepared on metal meshes. Then, the TiO2carbide meshes were made into a regular catalyst. Compared with powdered TiO2 catalyst this preparation procedure leads to a highly active photocatalyst easily applied to commerce.
